Statement from the Palestinian Postal Services Workers Union (PPSWU)

to CWA Members, Trade Unionists, and Solidarity Activists in the United States

July, 2025

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

We send you warm greetings from Palestine and deep appreciation for your continued solidarity. On behalf of the Palestinian Postal Services Workers Union – Communication Workers Union-Palestine (PPSWU), we thank the Communications Workers of America (CWA) and all unionists and solidarity activists across the United States for standing with the Palestinian people in these critical times.

Traveling from Palestine is not only difficult — it is dangerous. But we come with urgency and purpose, to share the truth: our people are enduring an ongoing genocide in Gaza, brutal ethnic cleansing in the West Bank, and a system of apartheid and settler-colonialism that has lasted for over 75 years.

Despite this, Palestinian trade unions continue their vital work. We organize under siege. We protect workers’ rights in the face of violence. We raise our voices for dignity and freedom, even as we are targeted, displaced, and silenced.

We call on our comrades in CWA and the wider US labor movement to act decisively to help end complicity with Israel’s crimes. This includes:

• Pressuring institutions and pension funds to divest from corporations that support or profit from Israel’s military and occupation apparatus

• Supporting the call for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) as a peaceful and effective means to hold Israel accountable under international law

• Demanding a comprehensive arms embargo to stop the flow of weapons, spare parts, and dualuse items used in attacks on Palestinian civilians

This is not only a matter of foreign policy — it is a matter of workers' rights, human dignity, and global justice. When Palestinian workers are attacked, displaced, or killed, the international labor movement must respond with clarity and conviction.

We thank you for your courage and solidarity. Together, we can build a world rooted in freedom, equality, and justice for all.

In solidarity,

International Solidarity and Workers’ Education Office.
